This odyssey, entitled Children of the Tide, will be launched on the 25th of March 2027 and is a double core mission:
A / World tour energy challenge biomimicry innovation
An energy challenge to sail from Venice to Sydney without using a single litre of fossil fuel, supported by a selection of the most advanced biomimicry innovations, while maintaining modern onboard comfort through energy sobriety. The power generated will also supply Chandeleurβs mobile laboratory, supporting the mission alongside scientists and coastal communities.
β’ This one-of-a-kind journey will cross a wide range of climates , providing a full data report and proof of concept for the effectiveness and durability of bio-inspired innovation.
β’ These innovations will be showcased in major ports around the world, highlighting biomimicry in practice and bringing it to the forefront of the innovation and investment landscape.
B / Rising sea level biomimicry program and artwork
The Children of the Tide mission is also dedicated to rising sea levels phenomena through a new biomimicry-based programme, with two main actions:
β’ An original artwork creation between the Venice Biennale and the Sydney Biennale in collaboration with coastal communities affected by this global challenge. Upon arrival in Sydney, this monumental artwork will be unveiled to the public and will become the setting to support a major conference.
β’ A scientific programme to map the different types of impact caused by rising sea levels, so that the biomimicry community, can develop new solution propositions.
