Walter Mata

Walter Mata, 29, was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León. He studied Business Creation and Entrepreneurial Innovation at the University of Monterrey and founded and is the CEO of WAS Co Mexico, Worldwide Accountability Solutions. His main project is the development and commercialization of new sustainable construction materials made from the utilization and transformation of industrial waste. His latest invention was the creation of a cement made from the transformation of mining waste. He has received several national and international awards and recognitions, including Inventor of the Year at the MIT Innovators Under 35 LATAM 2022 Awards, selection for Forbes Mexico's 30 Business Promises 2023 and Expansión's 30 Promises 2025, Latin American Reports' 40 Under 40 LATAM 2025, and Forbes' 30 Under 30 LATAM 2025.
