Introducing my startup called HydroPlas Tech : a waste plastic to carbon nano-material manufacturing company💫.
Hi everyone, I'm Avhijit👋, founder of a clean tech startup based out of Bangalore, India. I claim myself to be a software engineer-turned-material scientist because everything related to materials is what I love now🤩.
I got the idea of HydroPlas Tech after being frustrated with plastics for a while. Every time I did grocery shopping from a nearby small shopkeeper, I ended up with plastic packaging and other such trash in my kitchen🤦🏻♂️. I yearned to do something about this, something outside of the normal to find a true circular solution. So I started reading more about plastics and what people are doing around the world to solve for its dreaded existence😬. I think this is when the seeds of HydroPlas Tech started germinating in my 🧠
Around this time I got selected into a wonderful fellowship called BeVisioneers , sponsored by Mercedes-Benz, through which I raised my first grant which helped in setting up our lab.
At HydroPlas Tech, we up-cycle mixed hard plastic waste from landfill sites into carbon raw/nano materials such as Graphene that can go back into the industry and breathe life into 50 different petrochemical products. This helps to reduce dependence on virgin petrochemical ores while reducing waste accumulation on land and water resources. Furthermore, it helps us to remunerate waste pickers better due to higher value of up-cycled goods in comparison to traditional mechanical and chemical recycling.
DM me if you wanna know more about my startup or just wanna have a chat about everything sustainability or material sciences🙌
