Baeru Coast Clear is a coastal climate-tech innovation that makes ocean-bound plastic visible, verifiable, and recoverable. We combine community-led recovery with AI-powered traceability using image recognition to identify and classify waste at the point of collection, IoT-enabled weighing systems for real-time, tamper-proof data capture, and voice-based logging that simplifies data entry in low-literacy environments to track waste from coastal leakage points to its end destination.
Built with women from fishing communities in India, our system works in the harsh, low-resource conditions where most waste technologies fail: from harbours and informal dumping points to storm-hit coastlines. By turning invisible waste flows into trusted, actionable data, we create stronger livelihoods and scalable infrastructure for coastal resilience.
