We don’t set out to build farm software. We built it because we saw a bigger problem. Many smallholder farmers kept reaching out wanting to participate in carbon markets, but they didn’t know how to get there. The process was complex, and the data required for carbon MRV simply wasn’t being captured. So we asked: What if farmers could capture that data without having to become carbon experts? That’s why we built Mizizi. Farmers are using Mizizi to manage the things they already care about; their farms, crops, activities, inputs, productivity and operations. In the process, Mizizi captures structured farm-level data that can support carbon MRV. Over time, individual farms can connect into a digital cooperative, allowing thousands of smallholder farmers to be aggregated into larger, investable carbon projects.
