Choosing between school, or being able to walk again? Last November our team had the privilege of partnering with Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) in Eldoret, Kenya, where we carried out our first test applying our prosthetic socket software tool: from scan to 3D print. We successfully fitted two local patients with our prosthetic sockets, demonstrating the clear potential of digital workflows to deliver easy-to-use, fast, personalized prosthetic care. Highlight of the week was seeing a young man, who lost his leg in a car accident over a year ago, walk again. His family asked him the question: Do you want us to pay for a prosthetic leg or your college fee? He chose school. Thanks to the previous support of Rijndam Revalidatie and FAST University Fund, we were able to complete these fittings using donated printing materials, pylons and feet, enabling us to test the full setup in a real clinical environment. Next up, your funding can help us continue the project. Making it even more easy to use and making steps towards appstore and playstore compatibility. Will you help us? A sincere thank-you to the clinicians and staff at MTRH for their collaboration and openness to innovation. Their insights were invaluable, and the patients’ enthusiasm reminded us why this work matters. 1. 2. 3? Prosthesis on your knee!
