When we first started Maker, we were given a lot of advice. Some of it came from people deep in the environmental space - yet even they encouraged us to lead with health. Why? Because people care deeply about their own health, and often more immediately than they do about the health of the planet.
And they were right - most of our earliest customers chose Maker for health reasons. They wanted a better version of oat milk, something without seed oils or additives, something that supported their bodies and their families.
But the truth is, the reason we exist in the format we do - powdered, lightweight, shelf-stable - is because of the planet. We believe food systems can change. That every small shift matters. That packaging, shipping, and waste can be reimagined to reduce harm.
Health brought people to us. But sustainability is what drives us. And we believe the two aren’t separate—they are deeply connected. Because when the planet thrives, people do too. Excited to be here!
