Transition moments are easy to forget about because by definition they are soon gone in place of what is more stationary and stable and remains. But those moments of disruption when what is yields to what is coming can be extraordinarily glorious… and difficult. And our responses depend on whether we like what exists or we hope for something different. Having the awareness to know who values what exists and who welcomes what is coming makes all the difference in preparing communities for the changes we are trying to introduce with our innovations. And taking a moment to acknowledge, possibly celebrate, possibly grief, in the transition moments can go a long way to allowing communities to process what was in order to be open to what is coming. It's not so much that we say what is coming is better, though of course most of us on this platform will want to argue for that, so much is saying what is cannot remain. Our thoughtfulness in that process will make all the difference in how much support we have for the next steps. #transitions #awareness
