When Minecraft launched its update Aquatic, it extended the idea beyond the screen with Coral Crafters, a project that turns player creativity into real #reefrestoration.
Players were challenged to place 10 million coral blocks in game, and the winning designs were built underwater off the coast of Cozumel, Mexico. Using biorock technology, steel frames powered by a gentle electrical current create a limestone surface where corals can grow faster, withstand bleaching, and attract marine life back to damaged reefs.
