To achieve the 4 per 1000 or 0.04% increase of organic matter per acre of agricultural land we need to spread approx 9 tonnes per acre per annum. This will increase carbon offset by 3 gigatons per year.
The 4 per 1000 initiative is a program to increase organic matter on every acre of agricultural land by 0.04% every year. This will turn the land into a giant carbon sink and reverse the build up of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
