4-Xtra is a research-driven spinout from the University of Leeds, specialising in developing innovative machine learning and AI tools to forecast extreme values in multivariate non-stationary data streams, including generation of synthetic shock events. This technology is protected by a US patent. Currently, 4-Xtra is mostly focusing on fintech, business, and insurance domains (including stress testing and regulatory compliance) but has a potential and ambition to expand into HealthTech, MedTech and environmental risks (to pivot "green economy"). GlucoSentinel is our new project aiming to predict adverse glycaemia episodes via online processing of continuous glucose level data from next-generation wearable devices. In our R&D we collaborate with clinical and health professionals from School of Medicine at the University of Leeds, NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and Health Innovation Leeds. This project will underpin a much needed transition to preventive diabetes care in line with the 10-year Health Plan for England mandating the shift from sickness to prevention and from hospitals to communities. Our longer term vision is to expand this technology into a wider metabolic disease domain, including heart failure and stroke.
