From a group I'm in. " my sons chews through a shirt a day." Read that again. 1 shirt a day. And he is 4. Now look at what this parenta life is going to look like. 5 years. 10 years 20 years If the fabric I talk about was already in existence her child would be wearing a shirt made from it. And have sheeting made from. Curtains and even carpet. There would be no end to what could be made from such a fabric. And now look at that parents life. They are not replacing their child's shirt everyday with a new one. Just changing it. This fabric can change people's lives. If you are a designer ,an investor Contact me . Let's start changing the world and lives of parents and people with PICA.
When someone who has PICA chews the clothing they have on and a piece is separated from the clothing....this can be a choking hazard. Work with #Shedid and let's give more options to people with #PiCA and at the same time save their families the worry of choking.
To have a fabric that is ethically sourced. That has the ability to withstand excess chewing , from someone with a disability should be a daily occurrence. But it takes people who have dream and idea.
With help i will get there. I have a second product already in mind. The first fabric tough enough to with stand constant chewing aesthetically to feel like cotton. Second. Watch this space.
To have a fabric that someone with PICA can chew and with non toxic silicone attached to the side. This would not be the end result. At the moment these only last 5 months at best. My goal is to have them last 2 years. And to also innovate and develop and fabric that feels like cotton sheeting but can withstand being chewed.
Having someone with PICA in your life can be a constant worry. Sometimes it can be medical intervention is needed because your loved one has eaten something that has gotten stuck in the body. Chewing linen and curtains means a constant need to replace those items. What if there was a product that could replace that traditional linen with one that is built to with stand the chewing.
