Our vision: Recreate Recycling to Reuse (electronic waste)! Cyanovation aims to introduce a modular bioreactor system for electronic manufacturers by recovering more of the contained materials at higher quality through the metabolic capabilities of bacteria. So, that electronic waste can be recycled more efficiently and sustainably.

First exhibition in Switzerland Looking back on the first month of the year, we are simply grateful. Grateful. Humble. And excited (about what is yet to come). In January, one of our greatest achievements was our first exhibition in Switzerland. This exhibition not only allowed us to have great conversations, but also to gain insights into the Swiss start-up ecosystem and future opportunities for VC financing. Nevertheless, the most important insight we gained was on a personal level. We were open and frankly, did not know exactly what to expect. However, we showed passion and a deep understanding of electronic waste recycling and explained why this cause is so important to us. Openness can open doors for collaborations. And help your venture reach its next big milestone (like our first exhibition in Switzerland!). #e-waste #recycling #circulareconomy #sdg12 #open-minded

Electronic waste and its many personalities Electronic waste (e-waste) is one of the fastest growing waste streams. Still, only a minor fraction of 22.3% is formally collected an recycled. Part of the problem are the many "personalities", so the different forms, e-waste can have. The diversity of e-waste contributes to the low recycling rates. Why? Because a fridge is huge and a phone contains sensitive data which means that different devices not only differ in their composition of metals and rare earths but also (!) in how they have to be treated due to how they are used. That is why streamlined sorting (sometimes with the help of AI) becomes more important- as a hope to separate the different forms of e-waste more easily to then, recycle more of it, If you are interested in the different forms of e-waste, I can strongly recommend to dive deeper into it via the "Global E-Waste Monitor" of UNITAR (which is also the source of the picture attached). #e-waste #recycling #circulareconomy #sdg12

Dear INSPIRED community, 9 days ago we were humbled to be heading to Davos. It was a unique experience; for sure. We were invited to be part of a dialogue on youth entrepreneurship & AI- a central and important topic. What was (even more) important is what happened after: - taking action on the advice received from founders, board members, experienced professionals, etc. - being inspired by the many approaches on AI integration - reflection on own leadership practices For us, Davos was an inspiring experience. Simply, because the people present were open-minded to listen, give advice or had the desire to stay in touch. We learned that unique events are defined by themselves and the exchange they enable, but that they gain even greater importance by creating ripples, waves of inspiration and collaboration. #wef26 #circulareconomy #youthleadership #sustainability

Electrical waste can look very ugly. When you see a broken screen, for example, the first thing you may notice is that it is broken and you (probably) need a new one. At Cyanovation, we want to change this perspective. We want to help people see ordinary electrical waste as a resource. Even a broken screen is part of a cycle. A broken screen contains a lot of valuable metals and rare earths that can be recycled. Through recycling, these materials can be reused as valuable resources instead of being thrown away as waste. This idea of seeing electronic waste as a resource brings us back to our vision of responsible recycling and our mantra, ‘Stop Wasting Waste’. We hope that the next time an electronic device breaks, you, dear INSPIRED community, will be able to see it as a resource. It would be wonderful to share this idea from Cyanovation with this community!

Humbled to be heading off to Davos today We are so grateful for the conversation(s) scheduled and the invitation overall to be part of the discussion(s) in Davos. Many thanks go to the fellowship we are part of called beVisioneers: The Mercedes-Benz Fellowship. (Disclaimer: The fellowship is organized by The DO School, NOT Mercedes-Benz.)

M01N Startup Camp: reflections The M01N Starup Camp was an unexpected opportunity. We received a message via a network close to Christmas. We applied either way, got selected for attending. We were so happy. Then, we got a message during New Year: “ […] it is really cool what you do. […] We would be pleased to give you a booth. Of course, I am wishing you a great start into 2026 too.” We got selected for our own booth at the M01N Startup Camp. Honestly, we could not believe it. It would be our very first exhibition in a foreign country. Before, we only exhibited within Germany, where we are based. We were so excited and simply grateful. The preparations were intense. We knew that not only many other amazing founders will attend but also serial entrepreneurs and great investors. So, we thought of new, more creative approaches to make a good impression. We wanted to communicate our vision for “responsible recycling” of electronics. Well, it was totally worth it. Founders, professionals and investors not only talked with us but also gave feedback and/or wanted to stay in touch. And yes, it was inspiring to listen to the vision of other founders too- it was a little bit like scrolling on the INSPIRED platform. At the end, our biggest learning was that applying either way can of course, result in a rejection but not even trying will definitely result in one.

M01N: first impressions Today marked the start of the M01N Startup Camp. Before we share our reflections about it soon, here are our top three meal-bite learnings from today: 1. It pays off to be a bit unconventional with the presentation material at your booth. 2. Stay curious and open-minded. You never know what might come of it. 3. [a ton of learnings thanks to the speakers]; the presentation by Petter Made (current partner at EWOR) was particularly interesting. He not only talked about SumUp, but also gave the attending founders practical tips on topics such as financial sustainability. We are excited what comes next tomorrow!
