Did you know that a single non-organic cotton T-shirt can use over 2,700 litres of water to produce? That’s roughly what one person drinks in 2 1/2 years! Moving towards sustainability not only in manufacturing and production but also in materials used is essential. Organic cotton is grown without any toxic pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and uses up to 91% less water than non-organic cotton (approximately 250L of water). It relies more often on rainwater instead of irrigation. It also supports healthier soil and safer working conditions for farmers!

We strongly believe community-driven fashion is the future to a sustainable industry. After analyzing the overall manufacturing process in the fashion industry for a few years, we realized there were two major pain points. 1- The garments designers send to production don’t always resonate with their target audiences. 2- The total amount of garments to be produced is hard to quantify. Designers can design products that resonate with them, however don’t resonate with their audience. This means the garments in question won’t be sold, eventually ending up in landfills. We’ve created a pre-selected garment manufacturing process. This helps us weed out the less popular designs and only send the preferred designs to production. Increasing the likelihood these garments find new owners. We then tailor production to the amount of votes received for each garment. This helps us quantify the amount of garments to produce for each design, helping reduce overproduction.

Blockchain-based certificates can drastically help in fighting counterfeits in the fashion industry by giving each product a unique digital identity. Because data is stored on a public ledger, anyone can verify the product’s authenticity, ownership history and sale details. This creates a transparent system where every garment sold is traceable, trustworthy and proven to be legitimate.
