What started as my high school graduation project (Matura) has quickly evolved into something much bigger. After receiving the highest distinction in Physics & Technology at Schweizer Jugend Forscht (SJF) 2024, I had the honor of presenting this project at the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) at Imperial College last summer, where it stood out among over 300 international entries. Building on this momentum, I recently presented my prosthetic arm to potential partners, focusing on three core pillars: First, the innovation. I built a full-arm prosthesis that mimics natural biomechanics through a proprietary shoulder mechanism. This isn't just about moving an arm; it's about a lightweight system that transmits high forces naturally. Not as a complex, heavy machine. But as a seamless extension of the body. Second, the adaptability. I didn’t just explain the mechanics. I explained the scalability. My simplified structural design allows for rapid customization. I can adapt the size and weight for a growing child just as easily as for an adult. I showed that high quality doesn't have to mean high complexity. And third, the human impact. Because prosthetics are not only about engineering. They are about dignity and independence. This is no longer just a student project. It is a conversation about how a patent-pending solution from Switzerland can change the standard of care in prosthetics globally.
