Many professionals still confuse having a plan with having a strategy. But the truth is: a plan is not a strategy.
Strategy defines the why and what for:
• Long-term vision and direction.
• Clear business objectives.
• Target audience, positioning, and differentiation.
• The bigger “game plan” for growth.
Plan defines the how and when:
• Specific actions, timelines, and responsibilities.
• Tactical execution of the strategy.
• What will be done, by whom, and in which order.
Without strategy, a plan is just a list of tasks.
With strategy, a plan becomes a powerful execution tool that connects every action to a real business goal.
Simple as this:
• Strategy = Why + What for
• Plan = How + When
