Here's what I believe...
Every now and again there’s a new shake-up in the packaging world.
Something new. Something better. Something more sustainable.
But when a product is made by the millions and thrown away after one use, it has to be a few things:
1. It needs to work. Simple but all too often this gets forgoten in the excitment
2. It needs to be completely and utterly sustainable. Made renewably, low energy, low water, and it must naturally compost. No shortcuts. No “partially biobased.”
3. It needs to be dead simple. There’s no room for complexity at these scales, it just won't work
That’s what I believe. It’s the learned philosophy our company has grown into. That's why our packaging is simple.
It's a custom insert that cradles around products.
It uses extremely low-impact, totally renewable components
It's home-compostable—everything in it, down to the pigments
I think that's very special.
But what do you think?
Which colour do you like best? Im a fan of the sleek black look!
If you know any interesting brands who'd want to collaborate spread our message far and wide!
We're making truely sustainable packaging beautiful.

For those who don’t mind a longer one, this is a little look into our world.

Making something wonderful without the waste 🌿.
Here’s a casual look at how we prototype custom packaging—fast, affordable, and sustainable!
Custom packaging usually means pricey sampling, long wait times, and hoping you nail it on the first try. We do it differently.
Our Nest Packaging -
💸 Lower sampling costs — inexpensive tooling and quick proofs
⚡ Fast iteration — easy to tweak to get everything just right
🚀 Scale-ready — smooth path from prototype to production
Our sampling process
1. Source natural fiber sheets (often upcycled from coffee roasters ♻️).
2. Infuse with our biodegradable resin.
3. Mold to shape using 3D-printed tooling — refine, repeat.
The result? Beautiful, protective inserts without the waste...or the wait!

I’ve got a complicated relationship with mushrooms... 🍄
Our relationship started early last year. I was bright-eyed, just starting my sustainable packaging company, determined to end plastic pollution and make my (biodegradable) mark on the world.
And mushrooms? Well, they were everywhere. Everyone was talking about mycelium packaging—this organic material made from biobased aggregate (think sawdust) bound together by mushroom “roots.”
Biobased, home-compostable, light, strong, unique, customizable? No wonder I couldn’t resist... But then came the reality check…
—
In all seriousness, mycelium packaging is a breakthrough—and it’s where Mushee began. We even chose to keep our name to remind us to stay practical and committed to the problem, not to any single technology.
But packaging is brutal at scale. We hit the same walls many do: speed, cost, and repeatability.
So we went back to the drawing board, back to customer insights and asked: how can we keep what’s great about mycelium… and make it simple and scalable.
Same function, better process...
Meet Nest Packaging — our compostable, custom insert that finally delivers on sustainability promises:
