In 2020, the Pantanal faced one of the worst wildfires in its history — 26% of the biome was burned and the Serra do Amolar was 90% affected. Out of that devastation came resilience. The Amolar traverse became the starting point of Embrace the Forest, a movement born to protect biodiversity, people, and culture from the growing threat of fire.
What began as an emergency response has transformed into one of the largest environmental protection initiatives in South America. Today, Embrace the Forest monitors more than 5.7 million hectares across the Pantanal and the Amazon, using technology, community action, and traditional knowledge to defend life against climate extremes.
This video is more than a memory — it’s a teaser of the documentary that tells the story of how a tragedy sparked hope and the birth of a project that continues to expand and inspire.
