Hello INSPIRED, we’re @sairaab.insp.social and it is our mission to turn data into green impact 🌳 Sairaab is an environmental intelligence and community collaboration platform making cities greener and smarter. Using our proprietary ZarkhaAI, we analyse local soil, weather and native-plant data to deliver actionable tree-planting recommendations. Why that matters? Big cities with a lot of concrete surface absorb heat like “ovens” during hot summers which can trigger heat waves within urban areas if there are not enough green spaces to counterbalance it. This is called the “urban heat island effect” and it contributes significantly to heat-related mortality rates. At the same time, we have companies that need to offset their carbon emissions by investing into CO2 capturing projects like tree plantations. But most of the time, these plantations are in the countryside where they grow under controlled conditions. That’s exactly where we come in. With our scientific data-backed tree-planting recommendations we enable companies and urban communities to plant native green directly in their cities. How we do that: Through local planting meet-ups, we make sure that people connect with these green spaces and take long-term care of them, supported by our monitoring data. We guide them to plant the right species in the right soil conditions at the right time - thus increasing the chances for green spaces to flourish and help regulate temperature in urban areas. We’re currently starting in Karachi, Pakistan, and are already in conversation with municipalities, NGOs and corporates to drive sustainable urban forestry geotagging and climate resilience.
