We are collaborating with a thinktank to develop perspectives for policymaking on AI. Some of the results from public consultation are government policies to allow early stage startups to use internet content with lesser restrictions in training language models. These policies regulate use of public content in training language models by large corporations. Copyright is respected and content ownership is rewarded with various mechanisms.

People might face discrimination when applying for a loan. Machine learning models trained on previous lending behaviours may influence subsequent suggestions. Hence, if training of models is not adapted to fair assessment of loan applications, then artificial intelligence will continue to perpetuate human inefficiencies.
