Steve Agi put it well this morning: the hardest problem in climate-smart agriculture isn't the technology. It's the signal gap. We'd add: the signal gap is actually three gaps stacked on top of each other. → The measurement gap: data collected at the farm rarely reaches the decision-maker in a form they can act on. → The coordination gap: the people who need to act on the signal — lenders, buyers, extension services — are operating in separate systems with no shared view. → The incentive gap: even when the signal is clear, there's no mechanism to reward the right behaviour at the farm level. KAOS addresses the coordination layer. Not the sensors. Not the models. The layer in between — where signal becomes decision, and decision becomes action. If you're working on any of these three gaps, we'd like to hear what you're seeing.
