Why is it important to recycle electronics, like your old broken phone?
Eletronic waste (also e-waste) recycling is not only about being sustainable but also about being efficient. Every single electronic device contains valuable metals and rare earths which are often lost via improper recycling methods.
This accumulates to the following challenge:
Over 60 million tons of e-waste are generated every year but only 22.3% are properly recycled. A huge amount of valuable materials contained get lost. Plus, informal e-waste recycling activites increase, while having severe effects on the local community, health and the environment (e.g. soil fertility).
It is of utmost importance to recycle responsibly. That is why we at "Cyanovation" care deeply about perceiving e-waste as a resource and not just waste.
Our vision is to "Recreate Recycling to Reuse (e-waste)"!
