About Cyanovation- the vision Cyanovation aims at stop wasting waste. We aim at perceving waste, in particular electronic waste, as a resource instead of wasting it! What do we mean by that? The starting point of this project was the realization of how much electronic waste is wasted. We knew that at some point that fridge we use has to be replaced or that we won't have the same phone in 10 years. But: We did not know that such a large amount of the electronics we no longer use is "wasted". We thought that there is a recycling process for it just like for other waste streams like bio-waste; and there are mutliple but there is still a huge gap. When realizing that only 22.3% of electronic waste is formally collected and recycled, we were in shock. We could not believe that so many valuable resources just go to waste. We wanted to do something about it. That's why our vision is centered around phrases like "Stop wasting waste" or "responsible recycling". It is because we genuinely believe that the recycling of electronic waste can be better. Electronic waste can be viewed as a resource!
