🌊🪁⚡Kites turning ocean energy into clean power.
Swedish company Minesto has created Dragon 12 - a tidal kite that glides through underwater currents to generate up to 1.2 megawatts of clean power, enough for about 1,000 homes. Anchored to the seabed, it flies in a figure-eight pattern, moving faster than the current to produce several times more energy than a fixed turbine.
With plans for large-scale Dragon Farms, Minesto aims to supply over half of the Faroe Islands’ clean energy needs through predictable, renewable tides.
