My Few Takeaways from the Better Air Quality Conference in Bangkok
I recently attended the 12th Better Air Quality Conference in Bangkok, where more than 1,000 people from over 50 countries came together to talk about cleaner air across Asia.
One point came up again and again: we already have many of the solutions. The harder part is putting them into practice through better funding, stronger policies, and more coordination between cities and countries.
I also liked the emphasis on cities learning from each other. There are already plenty of successful examples across Asia, and sharing what's worked is often more valuable than starting from scratch.
Another highlight for me was seeing AirGradient and its open-source air quality sensors. Affordable, transparent monitoring gives communities, researchers, and local governments the data they need to better understand local air quality and make informed decisions.
For me, that was the biggest message from the conference. The tools and knowledge already exist. Now the focus needs to be on getting them into more hands and putting them to work.
