99% of people breathe air that is harmful to their health. Every year, 7 million people die due to air pollution. Health costs resulting from the effects of air pollution exceed $8 trillion annually, accounting for more than 6% of global GDP. Despite this, cities have an alarmingly low number of air pollution sensors installed, meaning we don’t even fully understand the problem because we lack the necessary data. Without data, there are no solutions. Few issues faced by humanity are as vast and far-reaching as this one, affecting every single person on the planet. Yet, it remains one of the most overlooked problems, with the majority of people neither aware of it nor taking the necessary protective measures or demanding change.
