What happens when those who control the shelves also control the competition? Three chains control over 90% of the grocery store market. Now, they have been fined NOK 4.9M for illegal price collaboration, but it's the consumers and producers who are paying the price. When a few decide which products are allowed, vi lose access to both diversity and freedom of choice. Small producers are left on the outside regardless of how good their products are. The market must be opened for transparency and genuine competition. The customers deserve real choice, and the producers deserve a fair chance. When the system isn't working for enough people, new systems must be built, like we're trying to do in @reddiksen.insp.social.
