(following precedent post) 2) Algoscience for the Systematic Study of Suffering Algoscience is proposed as a systematic discipline in which verifiable and cumulative knowledge concerning the whole variety of matters specifically related to the phenomenon of suffering is sought in accordance with recognized scientific or academic methods. A discipline devoted to suffering provides the terminology, classification, metrology (measurement, monitoring), methodology, bibliography (documentation, information, referral), and general synthesis that are to be used in practice and that allow people from various areas to collaborate much more efficiently for the alleviation of suffering. The World Center for the Control of Excessive Suffering and the project AI App for Dealing With Questions About Suffering can only be developed simultaneously with a powerful body of theoretical and practical knowledge about the various kinds of suffering, its numerous causes, its different degrees of prevalence or urgency, the various ways to handle it, the people and organizations concerned with these matters, etc. According to claude.ai, approximately $5 million would be required during the first three years to establish an academic infrastructure for algoscience: $2 million to create a research center, $1 million for university partnerships or programs, $0.6 million for publications and conferences, and $2 million to conduct research.
