Let’s create an academic discipline devoted to suffering and a world center for the control of excessive suffering. Let’s start it by creating an AI app that answers questions about suffering. That would change … oh so many things.

(following precedent post) 3) AI App for Dealing With Questions About Suffering This project consists of developing an artificial intelligence application that paves the way for both a new scientific discipline and a global program to address the phenomenon of suffering in the world. Three interconnected components make up the project: - An AI application is created to answer questions about suffering using a methodology based on big data. This tool aims to help specialists, interested organizations, and the general public to better understand and manage the various forms of suffering. - This application contributes to establishing algoscience, a new theoretical discipline devoted to the systematic study of suffering. The role of this field of study is to provide a comprehensive framework for understanding suffering, its causes and the interventions it requires. - These efforts are part of the development of the World Center for the Control of Excessive Suffering, an enterprise whose mission is to optimally minimize, through coordinated action on a global scale, the occurrences of consciousness that are too unpleasant. Ultimately, the full realization of this application project will require millions of dollars to establish algoscience and billions of dollars to implement systematic interventions to control excessive suffering. However, a modest investment of around $500,000 should suffice to prove the validity of the project by carrying out a pilot program with the following objectives: - Produce a prototype AI system. - Create a basic theoretical framework to deal with matters related to suffering. - Demonstrate the possibility of global implementation. - Consolidate the initial foundations of the academic discipline and the global action center. (following precedent post) 2) Algoscience for the Systematic Study of Suffering Algoscience is proposed as a systematic discipline in which verifiable and cumulative knowledge concerning the whole variety of matters specifically related to the phenomenon of suffering is sought in accordance with recognized scientific or academic methods. A discipline devoted to suffering provides the terminology, classification, metrology (measurement, monitoring), methodology, bibliography (documentation, information, referral), and general synthesis that are to be used in practice and that allow people from various areas to collaborate much more efficiently for the alleviation of suffering. The World Center for the Control of Excessive Suffering and the project AI App for Dealing With Questions About Suffering can only be developed simultaneously with a powerful body of theoretical and practical knowledge about the various kinds of suffering, its numerous causes, its different degrees of prevalence or urgency, the various ways to handle it, the people and organizations concerned with these matters, etc. According to claude.ai, approximately $5 million would be required during the first three years to establish an academic infrastructure for algoscience: $2 million to create a research center, $1 million for university partnerships or programs, $0.6 million for publications and conferences, and $2 million to conduct research.

A Plan to Deal With Suffering Here's a plan to deal much more effectively with suffering in the world within the next few years, if some people embrace it and actually work within a Startup Team to move it forward. The plan has three interrelated building blocks: 1) a World Center for the Control of Excessive Suffering, 2) an Algoscience for the Systematic Study of Suffering, and 3) an AI app for Dealing With Questions About Suffering. 1) World Center for the Control of Excessive Suffering The World Center for the Control of Excessive Suffering is an enterprise whose mission is to optimally minimize, through coordinated action on a global scale, the occurrences of consciousness that are too unpleasant. The Center is up and running at aboutsuffering.org. It is planned to operate on a much larger scale, with thousands of people and billions of dollars. This expansion is viewed as feasible through the following stages: The idea (first proposed in 1975) of establishing a central place to systematically address the problem of suffering in the world is good enough to… … bring a few persons to elaborate a first scaled-down version of the Center that is interesting enough to… … attract at least one high-level promoter who can present a roadmap that is convincing enough to… … involve at least one high-level funder who can invest enough to… … pay for the workforce, facilities, and equipment that are sophisticated enough to… … operate departments of research and intervention that are powerful enough to… … realize the best possible control of excessive suffering in the world.
