Daily Market & Technology Information – Thursday 10th September 2026
Good morning, and welcome to today's Daily Market & Technology Information.
Corporate & Technology
OpenAI is deepening its relationship with Samsung Electronics as it develops next-generation artificial intelligence chips. OpenAI Korea chief Harrison Kim said the companies have made significant progress on joint production and research involving future processors, although details remain limited. Samsung is also one of the largest corporate deployments of ChatGPT globally, with employees using the service across research, marketing and sales. The cooperation broadens OpenAI's semiconductor strategy beyond existing chip suppliers.
Meta has meanwhile acquired Swedish artificial intelligence startup Stilla.ai to accelerate development of Meta Business Agent. Stilla's technology and team will support AI systems designed to help businesses interact and transact with customers through WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. The Stockholm company emerged from stealth earlier this year after raising $5 million, and Meta plans to expand its presence in Sweden following the transaction.
European software is also seeing consolidation. Silver Lake plans to combine French software groups Cegid and Silae into a business valued at more than €10 billion. The merged company is expected to generate about €1.6 billion in annual revenue and increase investment in artificial intelligence as traditional enterprise-software providers adapt to rapid technological change.
