Daily Market & Technology Information – Friday 11th September 2026 Good morning, and welcome to today's Daily Market & Technology Information. Corporate & Technology Oracle has delivered another powerful signal that artificial intelligence infrastructure spending remains elevated. Its cloud-infrastructure revenue reached $7.4 billion in the latest quarter, up 121% from a year earlier, while quarterly capital expenditure surged to $28.49 billion. Oracle continues to expect between $90 billion and $95 billion of capital spending for the year as it expands computing capacity for AI customers. Shares rose more than 7% in after-hours trading following the results. Big Law is also moving deeper into artificial intelligence infrastructure. Latham & Watkins has purchased Nvidia GPU servers and begun customising open-weight AI models inside its own systems. The approach allows the firm to keep highly sensitive client information away from external cloud providers while giving its technology teams greater control over models and computing costs. The firm now employs more than 900 technology specialists, including AI and machine-learning engineers. Palantir has meanwhile expanded its work with Nvidia around so-called sovereign AI. The companies are combining Palantir software with Nvidia's Nemotron open models, targeting organisations that want greater control over their data and AI infrastructure. AI investment remains intense. Technology & Investment Quantum computing is attracting growing investor attention as governments and companies increase spending beyond generative AI. Bank of America analysts described quantum as a potentially transformative new computing paradigm, while US government backing has supported companies including Rigetti, D-Wave and Quantinuum. Enterprise research budgets for quantum technology have also increased substantially since 2023.
