Daily Market & Technology Information – Wednesday 16th September 2026 Good morning, and welcome to today's Daily Market & Technology Information. Corporate & Technology Artificial intelligence coding startup Factory has raised $200 million at a $5 billion valuation, more than tripling its value in only five months. The company develops autonomous coding agents known as Droids for enterprise customers and says its systems are model-agnostic, allowing businesses to use different underlying AI providers. Khosla Ventures, Blackstone and Sequoia Capital participated in the funding as competition intensifies around AI tools capable of completing increasingly complex software-development tasks. TSMC is meanwhile taking a cautious approach to using artificial intelligence in its most sensitive research. The world's largest contract chipmaker is applying AI across manufacturing and operational processes, but remains conservative about exposing confidential research and development information to advanced models. The approach highlights a growing challenge for technology companies seeking productivity gains from AI while protecting valuable intellectual property. UK financial-technology provider Fintel has reported first-half revenue from continuing operations of £38.6 million, up 5.3%, while adjusted EBITDA increased 16.6% to £12.4 million. Its Software and Data division grew revenue by 9.6%, and the company has launched an AI-enabled compliance and oversight platform for financial advisers. Waystar is reportedly exploring strategic options, including a sale, Reuters reported today.
