I created Codressing with a simple belief: beautiful designer fashion shouldn’t come at the expense of our planet. Today, Codressing allows people to rent, buy, rent out, or sell new and second-hand designer clothes and accessories ♻️ Right now, my company is still very much a one-woman journey. I build, manage, and grow everything myself—driven by passion, purpose, and a lot of late nights. Today, I’m taking part in the Innovator competition by Inspired with €20,000 at stake. Hi there 👋🏻 I’m Floriane, the Founder of Codressing. I’m French, moved to Berlin for my studies, and wrote my master’s thesis on the sharing economy in fashion — the spark that started it all. Then I met my Italian boyfriend… so going back to France to build the company was no longer an option. So I did it the bold way: I launched Codressing alone, in a country where I barely spoke the language. I found a store in the city center, built the website, and just went for it. It was never easy — and yes, Codressing may not be the flashiest or most “innovative/trendy” concept. But it answers a real need. The first orders came from local communities to the other side of the world — from second-hand pieces purchases to rentals for red carpets, singers’ performances, movies, weddings, company parties, and everyday life. Today, as a solo founder, I’m ready for the next step: opening a second store, reducing CO₂ emissions even further, and finally enlarging the team.

🚨B2B EXPANSION Codressing was originally designed as a B2C fashion leasing service, but we quickly discovered strong interest from B2B clients as well — Opera Singers, Photographers, Stylists, and even Movie Costume Designers. Many of them regularly need special pieces for unique projects. Seeing this opportunity, we’ve been continuously adapting our offering to meet their needs while staying fully circular by allowing items to be returned once the project is over 🌱 And here’s a fun story: last week, I (Floriane, Founder of Codressing) was on an international movie set as an extra, mainly so I could hand my business card to the Costume Designers. To my surprise, they were already Codressing clients. There’s no better feeling than going out to find new leads and instead discovering happy customers already wearing your curated pieces.

The rise of ultra-fast fashion, driven by companies like Shein and Temu, shows how deeply over-consumption has taken hold in the fashion industry. So how do we tackle it? At Codressing, we offer a clothing rental service that lets our clients enjoy high-quality pieces as often as they like—and swap them out the moment they’re ready for something new, all at an affordable price. We also provide the option to sell items directly to us or consign them, ensuring that every piece stays in circulation longer. In other words, our model is fully circular—good for your wardrobe and better for the planet 🌱
