I saw something scary on Instagram where a news source (I'm not 100% sure if it's real or not, but the point stands) was reporting that videos showing Iranian bomb strikes were generated content.
That would indicate that anyone can generate fake videos massively altering the geopolitical views on any number of things. This has been a fear of mine with AI since it became widely adopted, but that was the first time I saw it taking place. It also means that a reputable news source could potentially lie (knowingly or unknowingly) about a video being generated.
Ethical adoption needs to be the drive for future development. In the US at least, we have been rushing all of this and I'm glad the UK is taking a different approach (Check Maximilian's post from a few days ago on this).

I'm looking to find a company that, while remaining ecologically focused, uses AI in ways to help conceptualize ideas that may not yet exist. This is a great platform that gets things moving in the right direction. I'm curious to hear about how you, the general users rather than the companies, are using or hoping to use this platform!
Let's start brainstorming some cool ideas!
I recently started taking a course from Google's Moonshot "X" branch, and it's already got me thinking 10X rather than 10%. As individuals, are you working on, or hoping to start working on, any cool projects?
Been a while. I've been taking the time to get out more with the dogs and be outside. Work has been taking way too much of my time. I'm excited to see where '26 takes everyone. Hope everyone is doing well.
I can see this being an unpopular post...but I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on this.
If humanity is able to drastically improve how we live with new technologies, ecosystems, and more, do you believe there may be a negative side to this? My thinking is that, for example, if we adopt renewable technologies, wouldn't the mass adoption of these in turn hurt another aspect of what we were trying to save in the first place?
What would be some potential fixes for this? I'm a big believer in not putting all your eggs in one basket, so my opinion, though only surface layer without further discussion, is adopting as many solutions as possible to offset the risk.
Humanity is hurting right now. There's an incredible divide.
In the US at least, Blue vs. Red is pulling us even further apart. There is so much to create and to fix in this world that the opportunities are endless, we haven't even scraped the surface of human potential. This app perfectly delivers what we need and has vast potential. I appreciate everyone that's joined so far and I look forward to keeping this a productive social space for the millions.
Looking forward to creating new relationships and staying up to date with what's to come.
