No funds. No support system. No hope. By January 2026, all three are in class. WaziCare+ launched to eliminate Kenya's 530 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births through motorcycle mobile clinics. But we learned this: keeping mothers alive means keeping their hope alive. Catherine needed her children in school to live again. Through a partnership with Johanna Tatlow, we made it happen. Becoming a mother in Kenya shouldn't be a life-or-death gamble, but for many, it is. Right now, 70% of Kenyan mothers lack access to quality, affordable maternal care. According to the 2022 Kenya Demographic Health Survey, maternal mortality in rural areas is 40% higher than urban centers — not because care doesn't exist, but because mothers can't reach it or afford it. Every day, women choose between paying for prenatal care or feeding their children. By the time complications become emergencies, it's too late. Three barriers keep mothers from care: • 40% higher maternal death rates in rural areas. • 60% of mothers can't afford quality care. • And 1 in 2 lack digital access to use smartphone health apps. So we built something different. WaziCare+ brings prenatal and postnatal care directly to mothers' doorsteps through SMS technology and motorcycle mobile clinics. No smartphone needed. No internet required. No 20-kilometer trip to a clinic. Simple SMS check-ups, trusted community health workers, and motorcycle clinics that come to her — not the other way around. Kenya has 1.2 million mothers delivering annually. At just $3 to $5 per mother, that's a $4.8 million addressable market. And we're just getting started. In January 2026, we're launching with 200+ mothers already enrolled and an early partnership with Kajiado County Health Department. In 2 years, we anticipate to serve 20,000 mothers with 60%+ margins and multiple county contracts secured. This is momentum you don't want to miss.
